Introducing Object Necromancer
Raise the source code from the graveyard, summon back life, and command the software at home.
What if you could use CMake, the cross-platform build tool, to install many software packages into your Unix home directory? Object Necromancer is an experimental affirmation to this question. Object Necromancer is a collection of software packages, where every package is a CMake project. Object Necromancer downloads source code from the internet and sets it up as a CMake project, which builds and installs the package.
Object Necromancer contains scrolls for around 17 packages. Each scroll provides instructions and CMake listfiles for building one package. Kernigh already uses Object Necromancer to install FOX, nxproxy and nxssh, libfov, games and other applications over OpenBSD. Alas, the "summon" command does not even have a manual page, the ShellScript that glues Object Necromancer together is always amid redesign, and Kernigh is not close to providing a stable collection of scrolls.
