Those ttyrec files from the DownloadTtyrec page?
If you have an xterm (or gnome-terminal, konsole, ...) on a Unix system (including *BSD, GNU/Linux, Mac OS X) then you can play recordings by using one of these tools:
To make recordings, obtain ttyrec.
To play recordings:
- ttyplay is a fast player... it simply pipes the recording to the terminal while timing it at normal speed, or faster or slower as you specify.
- ipbt will take many seconds to load a ttyrec... but once it does, ipbt lets you rewind frames and jump between frames - useful if you want to skip parts of the ttyplay or need to back up over something that you missed. You can also pause and view the frames in forward and backward order.
Hint: install ipbt and press 100g, 200g, 300g to skip around the beginning of a ToME recording until you find where gameplay actually starts.
